Yijia Walks Together, Resonating Across the Bay Area! With the Spirit of "Beneath the Lion Rock", Co-building a New Chapter of Bay Area Integration

2025/11/10

When the melody of Beneath the Lion Rock echoes across the Bay Area stage, and the unyielding figures in wheelchairs shine with sign language, the "Hong Kong Roadways Association for People with Tetraplegia Sign Language Song Event", supported by Yijia International Foundation, is writing a touching chapter of public welfare and passion through a cross-regional integration initiative. As a partner of Hong Kong's local charitable forces, Yijia is honored to walk alongside the Roadways Association, supporting this sign language song event to take the stage at the Greater Bay Area public welfare art platform. It conveys beliefs through singing, connects hearts through sign language, and unites solidarity through communication.
Accompanying with Action, Enabling Hong Kong's Disabled Friends to "Step Out"
"Hong Kong is an important part of the Greater Bay Area and an inalienable part of China. Promoting the integration of Hong Kong with the Greater Bay Area will continuously expand the community of people with disabilities!" These words, mentioned by the Chairman of the Roadways Association in the media interview for the "Sign Language Song Event", highlight the core significance of this initiative. Yijia International Foundation has always believed that the power of public welfare lies in building bridges — we fully support the Roadways Association in leading its members out of Hong Kong through this sign language song event, to meet and communicate with friends with disabilities from various parts of the Greater Bay Area. This not only broadens their social horizons but also allows the concept of "integration of people with and without disabilities" to take root and grow in the interaction between sign language and singing.

From Hong Kong's local singing competitions attracting participants from Shenzhen, Fujian and other regions, to this time using the "Sign Language Song Event" as a platform to step onto the Greater Bay Area-level public welfare stage, the Roadways Association has long been practicing its original aspiration of "integration" through actions. Yijia's full support further strengthens this aspiration, enabling more people with disabilities in Hong Kong to gain the opportunity to "step out" through the unique form of sign language songs, and showcase themselves and realize their value in a broader world.

Shining with Persistence, Interpreting the Spirits of Hong Kong Under "Beneath the Lion Rock"
In the performance team of the "Roadways Association for People with Tetraplegia Sign Language Song Event", there are elders over 70 years old, energetic young people, and friends with disabilities who have always relied on wheelchairs. To perfectly interpret the classic charm of Beneath the Lion Rock through sign language, they overcame numerous difficulties during daily rehearsals: physical inconveniences could not stop their passion for art. They repeatedly practiced sign language movements and adjusted the rhythm of the song, all for the sake of presenting the most touching moments on stage.

This unyielding and positive attitude is a vivid reflection of the Hong Kong spirit. Against the backdrop of Greater Bay Area integration, they convey the belief of "mutual assistance and solidarity in the same boat" through the sign language song event. Every sign language gesture carries love for life, and every section of singing demonstrates the courage to surpass oneself — this is not only a display of art, but also a inheritance of spirit, and a unique power endowed by the sign language song event.

Taking the Stage as Wings, Making Dreams Come True
For people with disabilities, the stage of the "Roadways Association for People with Tetraplegia Sign Language Song Event" holds extraordinary significance:
  • It is a window to showcase themselves, allowing the outside world to see their talents and perseverance through sign language and singing;

  • It is an opportunity to surpass themselves, enabling them to overcome challenges during practice and performances, and gain growth and confidence;

  • It is a journey to realize dreams, allowing every effort to receive the warmest response on stage.

When the Roadways Association received the "Outstanding Participating Unit" honorary trophy for this sign language song event, this recognition not only belongs to the efforts of every performer, but also to all partners who support this initiative. Yijia International Foundation is also deeply honored to participate in and contribute to this meaningful sign language song event.

The connection between Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area has long been deeply rooted; the dreams of the disabled community deserve to be fully guarded. In the future, Yijia International Foundation will continue to adhere to its original aspiration of public welfare, support more projects like the "Roadways Association for People with Tetraplegia Sign Language Song Event", and build more platforms for integration and communication. Let sign language convey warmth, let singing transcend boundaries, let every passion shine brightly, and let the warm picture of the Bay Area united as one family become more vivid under the nourishment of public welfare!
